Congrats all you June Brides (and Grooms) isn't married life the best!? So far it's just been a big rock n' roll party, and a gorgeous vacation!
May we all have many many happy anniversaries to come.
to give a little background, my husband (i love saying that) and I both work in the music industry and wanted a retro rock n roll themed party. our outdoor headlands ceremony and reception were in my home town in northern california.
first off, not sure if i posted them before, but these were our engagement photos, and invites: (we printed them on playable 45s- small vinyl records... one side had Johnny Cash's "without love" and the other side, Cut Copy's "Time Stands Still"
j and i are big into our vintage vespas. mine is a 66, his is a 71.
our invites. (side a, side b)
rehersal dinner, my ladies table... my fave 5star vegan restaurant.
dudes table (and spike's girlfriend)
this was my bread plate and the oil and vinegar did this totally on it's own, i'm taking it as a good sign, outlook good!
retro hair styles means lots of teased hair! i'm pretending i'm having an 80s billy idol wedding for 15 mintues.
ok, now i'm back to the 60s, perfect!
i have a wedgie. (ps i do NOT wear frilly dresses, it was last minute to actually go thru with wearing my dress)
with my maid of honor, and cousin (we grew up more like sisters)
arriving on site (married on the cliffs of my hometown)
all my bridesmaids
the handsome fellas
the lady who gave me all her good looks <3
walking down the "isle" with my dad, and my niece isabella ran out to hug us cuz she was so excited (she was going to be my flower girl but didn't want to wear a dress! I don't blame her! hahaha oh well, its fun... when you're you know THE BRIDE. wow. can't believe i'm married!!!)
...down the isle... we kept our ceremony small/ private for close friends and family only... my hometown in the background across the bay
wedding party, my aunt june (reiki master) our reverend
my girls have my back xoxo wow this day was so nice out!!! you can't tell, but it was actually pretty windy... at least it was sunny!
our vows, everyone liked the "i take you as a friend, lover, and partner in crime" vow
at this point all the moms are bawling.
the big smooch!
mr and mrs!
yup. we're totally married and it pretty much rules.
wedding party, ready to party!
ok, time for me to get out of this dress and rock n roll with all our party animal friends and family!
our reception hall
back at our wedding suite, time to change out of my dress! last time you'll see me in it mom!
inside the hall. we decorated this ourselves, turned out pretty good, huh?
tables, vinyl record place settings with our initials and the date.
vegan chocolate fruit waterfall fondu
vegan wedding cake. 3 layers, 3 flavors... and vegan cupcakes too!
cut the cake!
yum! (outfit number two)
since it was a rock n roll day, and most of our friends are musicians like us, we set up the entertainment to be an "open mic" sort of set up. darin was my best friend when i was living in england... he sang us a decemberists cover
2 of my 4 step brothers... sang me two originals, one that they wrote with my other brothers who couldn't make it out to california.
my mom and step dad sang for us too.. i'm telling you i come from a music family!
and my blood brother alex also sang an original for us
and well they had us jump on up and sing like johnny cash and june carter... we sang "I walk the line."
which only led to an air guitar contest! my family effing rules.
it was good to be home, but we have married people stuff to do! like go to mexico!
our platnium bling
honeymoon 2007 xoxo
hope you enjoyed these!
